Making a mobile phone wallpaper.
This question came up and the request was some sort of interactive way of doing it. The requester was using a simple editing application and could resize or crop an image but not at the same time so it was all a bit of trial and error.

This is so simple in Gimp but then most graphic editing that users do is mundane and simple. I mostly make DVD menus and Disk labels and you can't get more boring than that.

I've used YouTube for the first time ever, always thought that the quality after they re-render is suspect. But, the alternative for me is Rapidshare and anything there is persistant only as long as they host it. so maybe this will last a bit longer.

Any comments, good, bad or indifferent on either the subject matter or using Youtube most welcome.

Well done. Using videos, such as this one, as a complement to tutorials would bring a great deal of benefit for people trying to make sense of the tutorials, especially users that are not quite familiar with the Gimp interface.

Edit: I have a feeling that youtube videos may be the future GUG tutorials! Perhaps we should make a page that links to (all?) the video tutorials we will eventually have? Perhaps a video tutorial on how to do video tutorials as well
