Please help me with skin tones

Postby kelloggs » Tue May 01, 2012 1:06 am

Hello everyone,
I am trying to change part of the skin tone on some photos. my beautiful baby boy had dark bruising from top of his head down to his nose.I have searched endlessly to figure out how to lighten this to the same colour as the lower half of his face but I cant find anything useful. There was a site that did something with a mask, add to channels then colour, map rotate colours ( a bit more in depth than my description) this looked quite good but either there is some steps missing or Im missing something as It doesn't work when I get to the rotate colours Its not highlighted for me to use it. or on other attempts to change colour and Im just left with the photo with red highlighting the bits not to be touched, but have no idea how to remove that and see what chnages i have made? I need step by step instructions please. Im new to all of this and I really want to fix my photos quickly so I can send them off to have my babys picture engraved on glass.

I would be so grateful for some help and advice

Hey Kellogs,

Good to see you on the board ;) Would it be possible for you to upload an example? You can attach a lo-res picture of your wonderful boy here on the board, and it's much easier for us to direct you, and perhaps even show an example of what can be done. Below the post window there should be 2 tabs: Options and Upload attachment. You're looking for the latter here.

Cheers,

Søren
