| Step 1. Copy the image and create a new layer. Then, paste the image so you
have the same image in the new layer.

| Step 2. Apply the GIMPresionist filter to the new layer. It's in <image> -
filters - Artistic - GIMPresionist. I use the "dotify" preset, but feel free to
try out the other ones. Using this effect will later give the image an effect
like the hair of a brush.

Step 3. Now we'll change the transparency of the layer so that the
GIMPresionist efect gets smoothed. In this example I've used 50%, but 66% or so
algo gives a good result.

| Step 4. After merging the layer with the background, we'll apply the
blur. Use <image> - filters - Blur - Selective Gaussian Blur and
put at least 5.00 blur radius. Higher values give better results on
images with not much details. |

| Step 5. This is the final step. We'll use the Apply Canvas filter on Artistic
category. I've just used the default value, so just click OK.
Step 6. Print the image, hang it on the wall and enjoy. :) |
