Erase the 'lost pixels'. Use the eraser tool with a hard edge. Don't care too much about the roughtness of shapes. |

Gaussian Blur (IIR) at 5x5 |

<Image>-Colors-Levels (111...1.0...143). You've got to play with these values to get an optimal result. |
