Wanna give your logos some warm touch for the winter months? This tutorial shows one way to create fire using the Gimp.
Create a new image with shapes similar to these. The image used here is 200*100.
Now, apply the ripple plug-in (<Image>-Filters-Distorts-Ripple...). Select the sinusoidal wave type and horizontal orientation. Period and amplitude depend on the image size. I've chosen 25 and 4.
This is how it could look like.
Apply Gaussian Blur (<Image>-Filters-Blur-Gaussian Blur (IIR)...) with x and y about 20.
Make sure that you've got the "German flag smooth" gradient selected. To select a gradient just click on the icon of the current gradient. Map the gradient (<Image>-Filters-Colors-Map-Gradient Map...).
This is our result. Play around with different settings to get other results.
