| Designing web graphics or themes you often face the problem of smooth rounded corners. But how to create them? Using the sphere selection tool and then the rectangular selection tool can be very fiddly, especially for small images. And forget paths! |
| But what to do? |
| Here is one way to create neat and anti-aliased round corners. |

Step 1:Create an image. Colour the needed shape as shown here. |

Step 2:Apply Gaussian Blur (IIR). In this case I used 20 or so. |

Step 3:Go to Image-Colors-Levels... Change the input levels to: "119" "1.0" "135". That's all! Use different values for blurring and input levels to achieve other effects! |
